I underestimated this one.
Unique microclimate and morainic, alluvial soil endow this varietal with intrinsic traits seldom achieved: pear, flinty and mineral notes, creamy texture. The grapes are vinified and aged in stainless steel, but to ensure further complexity and depth, the wine initially goes through bâtonnage on the skins for 4-5 months. This delicately fruity Pinot Grigio is the ultimate aperitif white wine and is a great choice for parties as it matches beautifully with a wide range of appetizers. The lively, zesty fruit flavors are incredible.
I've been out on the course today, so this is the perfect time to recommend this wine.
Granny Smith apple and stone fruit aromas, supplemented by a touch of spice and slight notes of clove and cinnamon. Much like any white Burgundy, this Chardonnay will benefit from time in the bottle to blossom fully. Mouthfeel is medium full, with a nice entrance, broad midpalate, and a creamy, long finish.
