There is one good thing about the weather these days, and that is the great boom to the white wine drinkers.  No more wine taking up space in the refrigerator, just put it outside your back door.

The bottles piling up outside of mine this week are Beringer Napa Chardonnay.  This wine has come a long way from it "chewing on an oak tree" days.  Bright, with good balance, it tastes like a vanilla caramel coated green apple.  It has enough body to hold up to winter salads and soups, and surprisingly, fits in amazingly well in front of a fireplace.  Great value for the day, and is a bold enough wine that even die hard red wine drinkers may take a pause.  Should run you about $14.
